Patrick Wade, Complaint Department

Mr. Wade handled my complaint for Oppenheimer’s complaint department in April 2024. Complaint, 4/12/24

His April 18, 2024 email states that first-quarter 2021 fees were charged at the old rate on January 13, 2021, credited back, and re-charged at the higher rate on January 22, 2021 for the full quarter beginning January 1. Ex. 2

His April 19, 2024 letter declined reimbursement and said the firm “considers this matter closed.” Letter, 4/19/24 His second letter, of May 23, 2024, said the firm had no documentation of my father’s cognitive decline before the fee update, and that its decision was final. Letter, 5/23/24

In our view, his email is the clearest document in the record. It shows, in Oppenheimer’s own words, that the higher fee was billed for a period before my father signed.
